Our Story...
Crystal:I was born on February 19, 1984 in Midland, Texas. I was raised in Fort Stockton, Texas by my two moms and Dad. I have one brother and three sisters. I graduated from Fort Stockton High School in May 2002. While in High School I was involved in Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, and National Honors Society. After high school I attended Texas Tech University. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2008. I majored in Social Work and minored in Mathematics and Anthropology. Upon graduating I began working for Child Protective Services in Lubbock, Texas. In January 2011 I transferred to a position in Houston, Texas where I continue to work. Kevin: I was born in Thibodaux, Louisiana on July 10, 1985. I was raised there until the around the age of 12 years old. At that time my father was transferred jobs to Katy, Texas where I graduated from Cinco Ranch High School in 2003. At this time I attended University of Texas Arlington for two years. Then I transferred to Texas Tech University. I graduated in 2010 from Texas Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. After graduation I moved to Houston, Texas where I began working for FTG International. How We Met:We met at Bed Bath and Beyond in 2006. Kevin had just began to work at this location after just moving to the Lubbock area a few months prior. I first saw Kevin while the store manager was giving him a tour of the store on his first day. Kevin said that the first time I talked to him I yelled at him for asking a woman her age. I don’t actually remember that but it sounds like something I would do ;) I first remember actually talking to him when I was showing a bridal couple around while they registered at our store. He was straightening up the pillow section and the couple was arguing over pillows. I asked him how he liked our store as compared to the one in Katy. Then a few weeks later he was sick and was heading home while I still had a few hours to go on my shift at the store. He asked for my number to hang out. Kevin then called me on my birthday to ask if I wanted to hang out. I had a few friends over at my apartment that worked with me at Bed Bath and Beyond so I told Kevin that it was my birthday and we were all hanging out together. I asked him to come over and I felt a little bad because he wasn’t originally invited but everyone over at the apartment were people we worked with. To be fair though I really didn’t know him and he was new. He came over and we stayed up until 2 am talking. After that everything was history. We were together for over 5 years before he proposed on July 25, 2011 by recreating one of our very first dates we had in the basement of the house in Lubbock. He had me in tears! We can't wait to be married next May!
